Srinivas Akella, Ph.D.
Srinivas Akella is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He received his Ph.D. in Robotics from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, and his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Akella’s research interests are in developing geometric and optimization algorithms for robotics and automation, biotechnology, and data analytics. He has made contributions to multiple robot coordination, digital microfluidic systems, and manufacturing automation. He has published over fifty papers in leading international journals and conferences, and received six patents. He has received the NSF CAREER award, and the CCI Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. His research has been supported by NSF, DOD, DARPA, NCDOT, and industry.
